Join us for a special evening with Côr Meibion Tâf and celebrate the kick off to the Rugby World Cup, with songs old and new, ensuring you welcome one of the world’s major sporting events with an evening of song!
Côr Meibion Tâf was formed in 2004 by Rob Nicholls with the intention of establishing a Welsh medium male choir in the capital city. The choir has won first prize at the National Eisteddfod on three occasions and has performed many times on radio and television in Wales and abroad. The choir appeared on Spanish television whilst on tour in 2011 and in 2012, it performed in Niagara Falls. Other tours have been to Edinburgh, Dublin and, recently, Rome. In October 2014 the choir recorded its first CD and many of those recorded pieces will be performed tonight.
In October 2016 Côr MeibionTâf sang for the third time as part of the biannual Welsh Festival of Male voices at the Royal Albert Hall. This autumn has been an extremely busy and varied period for the choir. Singing appearances included a concert at the Tabernacl Chapel, Cardiff with harpist Clair Jones, at the Principality Stadium before the Wales v Australia rugby game and also provided the entertainment for Brains Brewery Company after the Wales v Georgia game.
On November 4th it also performed with two other choirs at St David’s Hall for a Remembrance service. The most recent project was the filming of “Tawel Nos” / ”Silent night” as the Christmas promotion for CADW which was filmed at Castell Coch near Tongwynlais, Cardiff. Visit their Facebook page Côr Meibion Taf to see the video filmed at Castell Coch. Côr Meibion Tâf is one of the 15 choirs competing at this year’s National Eisteddfod at Llanrwst and also participated in PROMSCYMRU last week.

Côr Meibion Taf yn 2018 a 2019
Ffurfiwyd Côr Meibion Taf yn 2004 gan Rob Nicholls gyda’r bwriad o sefydlu côr meibion Cymraeg ei iaith yn y brif ddinas. Ers hynny, mae’r côr wedi hen sefydlu a thyfu i gynnwys 55 o aelodau ac mae Steffan Jones, oedd yn un o’r cantorion, nawr yn arweinydd. Y cyfeilydd yw Lowri Guy.
Daeth sialens wahanol i ni cyn y Nadolig diwetha wrth i Cadw lawnsio ymgyrch i hyrwyddo ymweliadau â chestyll Cymru. Cawsom ein gwahodd i ganu Dawel Nos yng Nghastell Coch. Bu’r ymgyrch yn llwyddiant mawr ac o safbwynt y côr daeth llawer person yn ‘ffrind’ i ni ar Facebook gyda negeseuon o ganmoliaeth yn dod o Ganada, Awstralia yn ogystal â gwledydd Ewrop megis yr Iseldiroedd. Ar hyn o bryd, yn ôl Wales on Line, mae dros 150 mil wedi bod yn gwylio. Mae dylanwad y gwefannau cymdeithasol yma’n dod â chynulleidfa llawer ehangach i ni fel côr ac yn dangos bod y traddodiad o ganu corawl 4 llais i ddynion yn fyw ac yn iach.
Cyngherdd elusengar – Bob blwyddyn byddwn yn cefnogi achos da sy’n agos at galonnau’r aelodau ac eleni, Prostrad Cymru gafodd ei enwebu gan Edryd Lloyd o adran y baswyr. Llwyddodd y gyngerdd ym Mhenarth ym mis Rhagfyr 2018 i godi £3000.
Bydd Côr Meibion Taf yn cystadlu yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn Llanrwst ym mis Awst ynghyd â 14 côr meibion arall a diwedd mis Gorffennaf bu’r côr yn rhan o PROMSCYMRU yn Neuadd Dewi Sant.
Cantores/cyfansoddwraig/cerddor o Gaerdydd yw Catrin Herbert.
Dechreuodd ganu a gigo 10 mlynedd yn ôl pan roedd hi ond yn 16 oed, ac yn ôl yn 2011 rhyddhaodd ei EP cyntaf ‘Y Gwir y Gau a Phopeth Rhwng y Ddau’, gyda chaneuon fel ‘Disgyn Amdana Ti’, ‘Ar y Llyn’ ac ‘Ar Goll yng Nghaerdydd’ arni. Yn 2013 cyrhaeddodd Catrin rownd derfynol Cân i Gymru gyda ‘Ein Tir Na Nóg Ein Hunain’.
Gyda chaneuon sy’n sefyll prawf amser, mae traciau Catrin yn dal i’w clywed yn aml ar donfeddi Radio Cymru, ac wedi seibiant, ar ôl mentro i’r byd cyflwyno teledu ac yna mynd am antur i Barcelona, mae Catrin wedi dychwelyd i’r stiwdio recordio, gan gydweithio gyda Mei Gwynedd. Mi fydd yna ganeuon newydd sbon allan yn fuan iawn ar label Jig-Cal, felly gwyliwch y gofod!

Book a table for pre-concert dining
Acapela Studio provides pre-concert dining between 6.00pm and 7.30pm from our pizza oven. To view the current menu visit here.
Please purchase your concert tickets first before booking a table. We will not accept any table bookings that do not have a corresponding ticket purchase.
Then return to the event page to book your table, by selecting the date of your event, number of diners and time you require table. The times shown are the only vacancies left. Please complete your email and phone number as this is required to ensure your table is allocated. You will receive confirmation of your booking by email and text.
If on the date you have chosen no tables are available - no times will be shown and the booking system will revert you back to todays date - PLEASE ENSURE YOU BOOK THE CORRECT DATE!
PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE RELIES ON THE INCOME FROM DINING TO ENSURE WE CAN BOOK ALL THE GREAT ACTS PERFORMING.
Income from the provision of pizzas is very important to the venue and if you have booked a table it is a requirement that all people sat at tables order food - a salad alternative is available to pizzas. Please do ensure that all individuals will be ordering on your table - if this is not the case please cancel your table so others who are looking to dine can do so. Our apologies to raise this but recently we have had many tables (some very large) where less than 50% of those sat at tables have ordered food. Financially this is a real problem to the sustainability of the venue.
- All seating at tables must purchase a pizza - so please do not book a table if everyone is not eating.
- Please ensure that you arrive 10 minutes before the time slot allocated to order your pizzas prior to your booking time.
- Tables not seated within 15 minutes of the allocated time may be lost and allocated to other audience members wishing to order pizzas.
- If you wish to book a table for 6 or more please email info@acapela.co.uk
Please note that all of our pizzas are made fresh to order and cooked in an authentic wood-fired oven. It may take up to 45 minutes to be served during busy periods.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO BOOK A TABLE YOU CAN STILL ORDER PIZZAS ON THE NIGHT (USUALLY ON BUSY NIGHTS NO LATER THAN 7.15PM) AND WE WILL SERVE THEM TO YOU WHEREVER YOU ARE SAT IN THE VENUE - IN A PIZZA BOX.
