Morganway

East Anglian rock / Americana collective Morganway released their debut self-titled album on August 2nd 2019, and are playing a selection of tour dates around the UK in support of the album.

Morganway was founded in 2016 by twin brothers Callum (vocals/bass) and Kieran Morgan (lead guitar), and genre-defying keyboard player Matt Brocklehurst. Their numbers quickly grew as their sound developed, with singer SJ Mortimer, whose growling vocals were a perfect complement to the Morgan brothers gritty guitar work, and fiddle player Nicole J Terry joining the ranks. The last member to officially join was drummer Ed Bullinger, whose diverse playing adds an urgent, yet tactful texture to the fray.

Inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and other classic guitar bands such as The Eagles, Morganway have quickly built a name for themselves on the UK live circuit. They have already received accolades from Radio 2’s ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris, swathes of recognition from the country press, two nominations from the BCMA awards, support slots with The Shires, CC Smugglers, Wildwood Kin and an Under The Apple Tree session, slots at Cambridge Folk Festival, Black Deer, Wood Festival, Country 2 Country, The Lovefields @ Glastonbury and Lakefest.

Peppered within their classic rock influences are aspects of country, Americana, pop and even bits of indie. Their ability to dance around genres yet keep a cohesive sound has been one of the principal reasons Morganway have such a captivating live show. Fans are taken on a journey through vastly dynamic soundscapes at their concerts.

Bolstering the sextet’s superb arrangements are vocals that deliver depth and character barely heard these days. Three part harmonies are the band’s bread and butter, and at times everyone chips in to support SJ and Callum’s masterfully crafted melodies. Lyrics on the other hand are less conspicuous, in that the band prefer to leave their interpretation up to the listener.

Currently touring across the UK, Morganway play a selection of venues and festivals in 2019, with a 2020 headlining tour currently being booked.

Their incendiary live shows have been blowing attendees away, and it’s hard not to come away a Morganway convert once you’ve seen what people are describing as “One of the most exciting prospects to appear on the scene.”

“A six-piece, superbly talented collective” “Morganway’s intoxicating

mix of Americana and all its contributing influences takes the breath away.”

Rock’n’Reel – ★★★★

The key thing that strikes on the album is the level of musicianship”… “Morganway have it all”

– Maverick – ★★★★★

Reviewsfrom Country 2 Country 2019

“Their blistering set on the Icon Stage certainly drew in the crowds, making them one of the most exciting prospects to appear on the scene since The Wandering Hearts.”

Gaz Williams, March 2019

Review from Black Deer 2019

“Morganway demonstrated real crossover appeal and have a sound that should appeal to classic rock, pop and Americana fans. A great show from a band who should go far. “

Book a table for pre-concert dining

Acapela Studio provides pre-concert dining between 6.00pm and 7.30pm from our pizza oven. To view the current menu visit here.

Please purchase your concert tickets first before booking a table. We will not accept any table bookings that do not have a corresponding ticket purchase.

Then return to the event page to book your table, by selecting the date of your event, number of diners and time you require table. The times shown are the only vacancies left.  Please complete your email and phone number as this is required to ensure your table is allocated. You will receive confirmation of your booking by email and text.

If on the date you have chosen no tables are available - no times will be shown and the booking system will revert you back to todays date - PLEASE ENSURE YOU BOOK THE CORRECT DATE!

PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE RELIES ON THE INCOME FROM DINING TO ENSURE WE CAN BOOK ALL THE GREAT ACTS PERFORMING.

Income from the provision of pizzas is very important to the venue and if you have booked a table it is a requirement that all people sat at tables order food - a salad alternative is available to pizzas. Please do ensure that all individuals will be ordering on your table - if  this is not the case please cancel your table so others who are looking to dine can do so. Our apologies to raise this but recently we have had many tables (some very large) where less than 50% of those sat at tables have ordered food. Financially this is a real problem to the sustainability of the venue.

  • All seating at tables must purchase a pizza - so please do not book a table if everyone is not eating.
  • Please ensure that you arrive 10 minutes before the time slot allocated to order your pizzas prior to your booking time.
  • Tables not seated within 15 minutes of the allocated time may be lost and allocated to other audience members wishing to order pizzas.
  • If you wish to book a table for 6 or more please email info@acapela.co.uk

Please note that all of our pizzas are made fresh to order and cooked in an authentic wood-fired oven. It may take up to 45 minutes to be served during busy periods.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO BOOK A TABLE YOU CAN STILL ORDER PIZZAS ON THE NIGHT (USUALLY ON BUSY NIGHTS NO LATER THAN  7.15PM) AND WE WILL SERVE THEM TO YOU WHEREVER YOU ARE SAT IN THE VENUE - IN A PIZZA BOX.
