We are delighted to announce that Acapela Studio will in 2019 be part of Vale of Glamorgan Festival’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

The venue will host a concert by Graham Fitkin, renowned pianist, conductor, and one of the UK’s leading composers.

He is particularly known for his works for solo and multiple pianos, as well as for music accompanying dance. He has been commissioned by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Halle, BBC Philharmonic, Tokyo Symphony, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Orchestra of Wales, New York City Ballet, BBC Symphony Orchestra and many more. His Cello Concerto was premiered at the BBC Proms by cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 2011. Fitkin’s Recorder Concerto, which was premiered at the Vale of Glamorgan Festival in 2016, has recently been shortlisted for a British Composer Award.

There will be a pre-concert talk by journalist Steph Power (Wales Arts Review, The Stage, The Independent) at 7:15pm.
